Qigong
Qigong in the EESystem - with Lorrie Berg
Mondays 5:00-6:00pm
One of the most effective ways to strengthen your body, calm your mind and soften your heart is through qigong practice (Chinese health exercises).
Qi, (pronounced “chee”), the Chinese term for vital energy, is the fundamental building block of life that makes everything in the body work.
Most of us are qi depleted. Having less qi can negatively impact your physical, mental and emotional health. Practicing qigong can help fortify your health and uplift your spirit.
During our time together, I’ll teach you exercises to help gather and build qi in your body and mind and in the energetic field around you. This includes a beautiful form, “Flying like a Bird,” with rounded, flowing movements that can feel light and free and create a sense of harmony.
This qi-filled environment can help you:
- Quiet your racing mind and feel more peaceful
- Reduce or eliminate pain and tension in your body
- Relieve stress and anxiety and have more replenishing sleep
- Learn to relax and focus inward, so you’re less triggered by external events
“Lorrie’s class provides a wonderful oasis from the stress, worry and fatigue that so many of us are feeling in the world today. After the class, I felt calm, rested and rejuvenated! I especially appreciated her ability to apply these powerful ancient teachings to the challenges of our present times.” JG, choreographer
“When I first came to Lorrie’s qigong class, I felt my back was about to go out and there was a tight band around my chest. As we moved into the exercises and started generating qi, I felt my mood lighten. By the end of class the tightness around my chest was gone, my low back felt much happier and the weight of the week had lifted – I felt refreshed and renewed.
Lorrie brings a playfulness to her teaching that I appreciate. She demonstrates the
movements beautifully – I feel like we’re dancing together – and helps me land in my body. She brings great patience and compassion to class and creates an atmosphere where there’s always space to feel whatever you feel. I highly recommend her qigong class.” -Lucy G., photographer
